Care Instruction:
- Pre-First-Use Cleaning: Rinse the bladder and bite valve thoroughly with warm water before first use (removes any residual manufacturing dust). For extra hygiene, wipe the interior with a mild, food-safe detergent, then rinse 2–3 times to ensure no soap residue remains.
- Regular Cleaning: After each use, empty any remaining water immediately—do not leave water sitting in the bladder (prevents mold, mildew, or bacterial growth). Wash the bladder with warm water and a soft-bristled brush (avoid abrasive tools that scratch TPU); use a small brush (e. g. , a bottle brush) to clean the inside of the bite valve and tube.
- Bite Valve & Dust Cover Care: Remove the dust cover after use and rinse the valve with warm water; dry the cover separately to keep it free of moisture. Check the valve for clogs (e. g. , from fruit bits or powder mixes)—soak in warm water if needed to clear blockages, ensuring smooth water flow.
- Drying & Storage: Hang the bladder upside down (with the screw cap open) in a cool, ventilated area to dry completely—avoid direct sunlight (prevents TPU degradation). Once dry, store the bladder with the cap slightly loose (not fully sealed) to allow air circulation; do not fold or compress the bladder (maintains its shape and prevents crease-related mold).
- Material Protection: Do not use boiling water or store hot liquids in the bladder (TPU can warp or release harmful substances at high temperatures). Avoid filling with acidic drinks (e. g. , citrus juices) or sugary/powdered mixes that dry and stick—if used, rinse immediately after to prevent residue buildup.
- Long-Term Maintenance: If mold or mildew appears (visible spots or musty odor), clean the bladder with a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts warm water—soak for 30 minutes, then scrub and rinse thoroughly. For stubborn stains, use a food-safe bladder cleaner (follow product instructions) to avoid damaging TPU.
