What is a USB-C DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode) Cable?

Cables with Type-C connector can offer DisplayPort technology via an alternative mode (Alt mode).
Alt Mode allows USB-C ports to transfer data/video via multiple interfaces, including DisplayPort video interface
