Dr Peter Boylan, MAO, FRCPI, FRCOG, currently practises as a consultant obstetrician/gynaecologist at the National Maternity Hospital in Holies Street, Dublin, where he was Master from 1991 to 1998. He has 30 years’ experience in the specialty. Dr Boylan trained in Dublin and London, and worked for several years in the United States. He has consulted and lectured extensively in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand and published widely in scientific journals. He is frequently contacted by the media about matters relating to maternity care.
